Texas Termination Law
If you do not contact your shop that you have been laid off within 48 hours of your termination, your claim for unemployment will be denied by Texas unemployment. It is suggested to e-mail your termination notice to your shop from work and to make a copy of it. That way it is time stamped and could validated. It should have read : "Contract ending due to lack of work", or something similar.
